Blue Angels

My father and I decided to go attempt to shoot the Blue Angels. We departed for the I90 floating bride at about 10. Sadly, as we were unable to get past the segment of I90 connecting Bellevue and Mercer Island, we retreated to the Newcastle Golf Course, a good distance away, so we were unable to get excellent shots of the performance. However, we did get some shots of our surroundings. People from all over came to enjoy the view and bask in the warm sun.

Apparently we crashed the Course on the day of a wedding.

Here is your consolation prize. I hope you are used to them.

Mt. Rainier Panorama

While not a true panorama, it is a massive image. The dimensions are 12687px x 3743px. The preview image is terrible, and does look scaled down poorly. The Original picture is much larger, 20.3Mb.

Download at your own risk.

Rachel Lake

A popular location we went to was called Rachel Lake on I90. After a very bumpy ride to the parking lot, we were there. The climb was 3 miles of flat road, followed by 1 mile, where the 2000 feet climb occurred.
Towards the end, we lost my dad, so I was stuck waiting by the lake, at the mercy of thousands of mosquitos.

A convoy of military vehicles was moving east.

The lake was pretty interesting. The bottom is flat for a while, then just dives down into the bluest water I have ever seen.

Lake Valhalla

On July 20th, I went hiking again with my father, a friend, and a group of hikers called the ZHikers. The Trail was pretty easy, with a short 800 feet climb, all in the first mile or so, followed by 2 more relatively flat miles.

Going out of order a bit, but this was sighted towards the very end of the hike, before you descend into the lake.

Fed by melt ice, I think, the water is very clear, and cold.
